BTRDA to run the MSA English Rally Championship

We are pleased to confirm that the BTRDA has been successful in its application to the Motor Sports Association to organise and promote the MSA English Rally Championship for a period of five years from the start of 2010.

The MSA English Rally Championship will expand in 2010 with the inclusion of an additional event, an extra championship class and some Junior awards. The Trackrod Clubman Rally on Sept 25th will provide an event in the famous Yorkshire Forests with the opportunity to run alongside the British Rally Championship. To encourage the use of standard cars at the least possible cost an extra class has been added to cater for the increasing popular BTRDA Rally First Cars. This will give competitors in Rally First cars the opportunity of competing on equal terms for a MSA Championship title.
There will also be new Junior Driver and Junior Co-Driver awards in the MSA English Rally Championship to provide some recognition for successful competitors aged 23 yrs or under.

The MSA English Rally Championship retains its ‘class based’ format so that competitors from any class have an equal chance of winning the overall championship titles. The scoring system reflects achievement against other registered competitors in the same class and the size of the class.

The MSA English Rally Championship is open to all two wheel drive cars with a maximum engine capacity limit of 2 litres.
Class 1. BTRDA Rally First cars up to 1400cc
Class 2. All other cars up to 1400cc
Class 3. Up to 1600cc
