The GMF Wyedean Forest Rally has attracted a 180 car entry which includes more than 70 crews who will be contesting the SWISHER MSA English Rally Championship.
The 2011 Champion driver Alan McDowall is back with the Opel Kadett as is his main rival Darren Pinchin who has come so close to winning the drivers title for the last 2 years.
However the championship is certainly not limited to these two drivers and the there are plenty of challengers in each of the 5 classes. As the championship scoring is based on class performance, competitors from any of the 5 classes have an equal chance of becoming the MSA English Rally Champion.
Could this be the year when someone in the BTRDA Rally First car wins the MSA English Rally Championship or will it be a Historic specification car running in Class 5. The permutations are endless and we will just have to wait and see. (Photo is Jason Hopkins in Rally First car)
The SWISHER MSA English Rally Championship will be contested over 7 classic English forest stage rallies with the best 5 scores to count. The Championship is exclusively for two wheel drive cars up to 2 litre and is an ideal forest rally championship for crews on a limited budget.
Good luck to all the competitors in the Forest of Dean.
