Scotsman Alan McDowall from Ayrshire driving an Opal Kadett is the 2011 SWISHER MSA English Rally Champion driver, just 1 point ahead of Darren Pinchin (Proton Satria). They had both scored well on 5 previous rounds of the Championship so elected not compete on the final championship round, the Tempest 2 Rally on Saturday. However a class win on the Tempest 2 Rally saw Matt Beebe (MG ZR160) climb up to 4th overall and secure his Championship class win.
Likewise Matt Griffin and Joe Cruttenden (Mazda 2) also had a successful day on the Tempest 2 Rally winning their class and in the process securing the SWISHER MSA English Rally Championship Junior Driver and Co-driver awards.
Karen Watts retained the SWISHER MSA English Rally Championship co-drivers title for the second year, just 2 points ahead of Gavin Heseltine.
